Google is seeking a Systems Security Architect to join their team developing custom silicon solutions for direct-to-consumer products. This role sits at the crucial intersection of hardware and software, focusing on designing secure, scalable systems for Google's next-generation devices and services. The position combines system design, security principles, and hardware/software architecture to protect users and data at scale.

The role involves working with Google's cutting-edge AI, Software, and Hardware teams to create innovative experiences. The position offers competitive compensation ($132,000-$189,000 base salary) plus bonus, equity, and benefits. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of relevant experience, strong low-level programming skills (C++/Rust), and a deep understanding of system design and security principles. Experience with SoC architecture, embedded systems, and hardware security concepts would be particularly valuable. Responsibilities For Systems Security Architect, Silicon

  • Design and architect secure system components for Google devices and services, defining hardware/software interfaces and interactions. Create clear technical documentation for architectures and implementations
  • Define strategy for partitioning security use cases across hardware resources and collaborate on implementing innovative hardware/software security solutions
  • Define, track, and optimize system-level security and performance Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Perform security analysis and threat modeling for system designs, derive corresponding security requirements, and design effective mitigations
  • Collaborate cross-functionally (Hardware, Software, Product) to define, implement, test, and maintain system security architecture

Requirements For Systems Security Architect, Silicon

Rust
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 3 years of experience in systems engineering, security engineering, hardware/software integration, SoC architecture, or a related role
  • low-level software development experience (e.g., C/C++/Rust); and experience with software design principles and patterns
  • Experience applying system design and security principles to hardware/software systems
