Google is seeking a Technical Program Manager for Data Center Construction to join their Data Center Delivery and Engineering team. This role involves managing large-scale data center construction projects in an international working environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in industrial or technology construction, project controls, and vendor management.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing site-wide data center construction and delivery organization
- Overseeing detailed designs, construction management, commissioning, and hand-off to operations
- Establishing and maintaining delivery models and global vendor relationships
- Creating growth plans and recruiting talent in project management and related areas
- Implementing construction methods for data center equipment and facilities
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
- 5+ years of experience in program management
- 5+ years of experience in industrial or technology construction
- Experience in construction project controls, scheduling, and assurance programs
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with data center equipment and environments
- Understanding of start-up/commissioning processes
- Experience managing vendor relationships in design and construction industry
- Experience with large-scale construction projects in international environments

Responsibilities For Technical Program Manager, Data Center Construction
- Manage a large, site-wide data center construction and delivery organization, managing scopes related to construction projects and/or capital improvement projects
- Be responsible for ensuring the development of detailed designs, managing construction (e.g., delivery, cost, quality, and EHS), commissioning, close-out and hand-off to the operations team
- Establish and maintain various delivery models and global relationships with multiple vendors
- Create a growth plan and be involved in hiring/recruiting of talent in the areas of project management, field engineering, document control, technical writing, etc.
- Research and implement construction means and methods of data center equipment and facilities
Requirements For Technical Program Manager, Data Center Construction
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
- 5 years of experience in program management
- 5 years of experience in industrial or technology construction throughout the project lifecycle
- Experience in construction project controls, construction scheduling, project controls assurance programs or other relevant areas
