Description For Technical Program Manager, Edge Metro Capacity Delivery

Google is seeking a Technical Program Manager to join their Edge Metro Capacity Delivery team. This role combines technical expertise with project management to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from inception to completion. The position requires managing network infrastructure projects, coordinating with various stakeholders, and driving process improvements.

As a Technical Program Manager, you'll be responsible for leading cross-functional teams, managing large-scale network projects, and ensuring effective communication across all levels of the organization. You'll work closely with external vendors for network build services and collaborate with engineering teams to develop infrastructure requirements and solutions.

Responsibilities For Technical Program Manager, Edge Metro Capacity Delivery

  • Lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple simultaneous large-scale network projects with competing priorities, ensuring stakeholders are aware of project status
  • Engagement with external vendors for outsourced network build services. Facilitate review and acceptance of vendor handover documentation
  • Assist upstream planning, design, and acquisition teams in developing infrastructure requirements, priorities, and delivery date expectations
  • Engage with engineering staff to determine root causes and solutions and present team analyses, recommendations and approaches to stakeholders and executive management
  • Identify and drive process, software and measurement changes that improve performance, functionality, quality and efficiency

Requirements For Technical Program Manager, Edge Metro Capacity Delivery

  • Bachelor's degree in Computers, or equivalent practical experience
  • 2 years of experience managing projects
  • Experience in Network Infrastructure, Project Management, Technical Program Management, Risk Management, Escalation Management and Deployment Planning
  • Master's degree, PhD, or equivalent experience in Engineering, Computer Science, or other technical related field (preferred)
  • Experience in Data Analytics and manage project priorities and technical resources (preferred)
  • Understanding of project managing, the deployment of network infrastructure engineering design and construction projects (preferred)
  • Ability to identify opportunities for and drive cross-functional process improvements across the organization (preferred)
