Google is seeking a Technical Program Manager for their Manufacturing Mechanical Engineering team to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects. This role combines technical expertise with program management to oversee assembly processes, equipment design, and qualification for Google's Devices & Services team. The position requires leadership in mechanical and manufacturing engineering, working closely with international OEM partners and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities For Technical Program Manager, Manufacturing Mechanical Engineering

  • Develop mechanical assembly processes and equipment at the factory from initial design concept through ramp and serve as a factory mechanical assembly technical lead
  • Work with cross-functional teams to develop manufacturing processes to meet product requirements
  • Identify, prioritize, and manage key technical changes and risks of Pixel phones
  • Drive manufacturing yield improvements, failure analysis, cycle time optimization, line balancing, assembly automation deployment, and product repairability
  • Build and manage assembly automation with vision systems to enable high quality production with optimal cost structure

Requirements For Technical Program Manager, Manufacturing Mechanical Engineering

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 2 years of experience in program management
  • Experience in both the Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering fields with international OEM partners
  • Experience with CAD tools (e.g., ProE, Creo, Solidworks, NX)
  • Experience leading consumer electronics and technical project teams
  • Ability to speak English fluently
  • 3 years of preferred experience in Technical Program Manager, Manufacturing Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience working on mobile phone projects
  • Experience in operations, managing projects with automation assembly machines with vision systems
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to influence decisions
