Description For Workspace Engineer

Google Cloud is seeking a Workspace Engineer to join their team in delivering professional services for Google Workspace deployment and adoption. This role combines technical expertise with customer-facing responsibilities, requiring both strong engineering skills and the ability to work directly with enterprise clients.

The position involves working within Google Cloud Platform team, which helps customers transform their businesses using cloud technology. As a Workspace Engineer, you'll be responsible for delivering paid professional services engagements, providing technical guidance to customers implementing Google Workspace, and serving as a subject matter expert for both customers and partners.

The role requires a strong technical foundation with at least 2 years of experience in languages like Java and Python, along with significant expertise in deploying workspace technologies at an enterprise level. You'll need to understand cloud security concepts, including IAM, SSO, and OAuth, as well as have experience with cloud-based mail delivery systems.

Key responsibilities include designing technical architectures, developing migration strategies, and implementing Google Workspace services for customers. You'll also work closely with Product Management and Engineering teams to drive product excellence and help organizations modernize their approach to collaboration and productivity.

Responsibilities For Workspace Engineer

  • Work with customers to design technical architectures, migration approaches and application optimizations, and help in deploying Google Workspace
  • Serve as a technical advisor and perform troubleshooting to resolve technical challenges for customers
  • Implement and/or advise customer leadership teams in deploying and managing Google Workspace services
  • Liaise with the Engineering and Product teams to commercialize solutions with partners and customers
  • Work with Google's partners to develop their capabilities in managing Workspace services for their customers

Requirements For Workspace Engineer

Java
Python
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience in software engineering
  • 2 years of experience in one or more languages such as Java, Python, Terraform, or similar
  • 2 years of experience in deploying workspace or similar technologies for customers
  • Experience in deploying or managing Cloud productivity solutions at enterprise level
