Principal Engineer

Haleon, a world-leading consumer healthcare company, is seeking a Principal Engineer to join their technology team. This role represents the highest level of individual contributor within the engineering organization, focusing on the MERN tech stack to build scalable, high-performance web applications.

The position offers an exciting opportunity to work with the Web Platform team, which is responsible for managing over 700 global Haleon websites. The team is actively modernizing their technology stack, transitioning from AEM to Contentful and embracing cloud-native architecture and automation. As a Principal Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of implementing best practices in software engineering, including microservices architecture, API-First approach, and event-based integration.

The ideal candidate will bring 10 years of software engineering experience and deep expertise in JavaScript frameworks, particularly Remix.js, Node.js, and React.js. You'll need strong experience with headless CMS platforms, specifically Contentful, and proficiency with modern development tools like Figma and Storybook. The role requires both technical excellence and leadership capabilities, as you'll be expected to mentor other engineers, contribute to architectural decisions, and communicate effectively with stakeholders across the organization.
