Embedded System Engineer Intern

Halo Braid is a mission-driven startup creating the first automated hair braider. We reduce braiding time from hours to minutes, empowering stylists to triple their business, and addressing the 8 billion hours spent braiding hair each year. Our team of VC-backed serial founders brings experience from MIT, Harvard, Apple, Rivian, and Amazon Robotics.

As an Embedded System Engineer Intern at Halo Braid, you'll have the opportunity to work on refining our first product. This paid internship role will collaborate with the founding team, engineers, and designers to build an innovative consumer product. You'll be involved in designing, experimenting, and prototyping under deadlines, making a significant impact in an overlooked industry.

The ideal candidate is passionate about building things real people want, embraces challenges, and enjoys working on interesting problems. This role offers a unique opportunity to learn how to build a consumer product from industry experts while contributing to a groundbreaking design.

Key responsibilities include:

• Programming on embedded systems using Python and C++
• Working with Arduino and Raspberry Pi
• Implementing PID control
• Integrating mechatronic and robotics components
• Performing perf board soldering and PCB shield design
• Creating electronic circuit designs and schematic drawings
