Description For Senior Mine Planning Engineer

Hellas Gold Single Member S.A. is a gold, silver, lead and zinc mining company headquartered in Athens, Greece. Since 2004, Hellas Gold operates the Kassandra Mines at N.E. Chalkidiki, under the strictest EU safety and environmental standards and regulations. The Kassandra Mines consist of the operating mine at Olympias, the state-of-the-art Kokkinolakkas Tailings Managements Facility, and the Skouries project.

We are seeking a Senior Mine Planning Engineer to join our team in Chalkidiki. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mining engineering and experience in underground mine operations. Key responsibilities include designing mid to long-term plans for ore extraction, developing 3 to 24-month plans, completing quarterly forecasts, and managing capital budgets.

The role requires proficiency in Microsoft, Deswik, and Autodesk packages, as well as general knowledge of Mine Planning software. You'll work closely with geology, mine operations, and other technical services groups to ensure tactical plan targets are achieved and appropriate designs are created.

Responsibilities For Senior Mine Planning Engineer

  • Designing mid- to long-term designs for the economic extraction of ore based on the geological block model and MSO
  • Development of 3- to 24-month plans, communicating these mine schedules and plans to all stakeholders
  • Completing quarterly forecasts and producing estimate of physicals
  • Compiling and managing the capital budget and capital forecasts as needed
  • Assisting with the development of the MRMR state and associated reports
  • Liaising with geology, mine operations, and other technical services groups
  • Maintaining an integrated LoM model with current designs
  • Ensuring that new designs have been reviewed and approved before production begins
  • Optimizing production through mine designs and production scheduling
  • Reconciliation of plan compliance and stope performances on monthly and quarterly basis
  • Provide operational and technical support through mine plan and schedule, design and implementation
  • Identify new or alternate ideas and concepts that can be used to improve the business

Requirements For Senior Mine Planning Engineer

  • Bachelor's degree in mining engineering
  • Professional Engineer registration
  • At least 4 years of experience in mine planning, design &/or mining for an underground mine operation
  • Proficient computer knowledge of Microsoft, Deswik and Autodesk Packages
  • General knowledge of Mine Planning packages
  • Excellent knowledge in English language
  • Driving License
