Description For HVDC Control & Protection Software Engineer

Hitachi Energy Sweden AB is seeking a HVDC Control & Protection Software Engineer to join their innovative team in Ludvika, Sweden. This role represents an exciting opportunity to contribute to the green energy transition through the development of High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) technology.

The position involves working with embedded control and protection systems, combining both software and hardware elements to create sustainable energy solutions. As part of the Global HVDC Control & Protection Software team, you'll focus on protection systems while interfacing with various domains including Control & Protection, IT/OT, Hardware, and Operations.

  • Design, maintain, test, integrate, verify, and deploy software functions for plant operations
  • Work on documentation and customer trainings
  • Plan and organize daily work independently
  • Problem-solving and collaboration with stakeholders
  • Participate in commissioning and customer meetings, including international travel

Requirements For HVDC Control & Protection Software Engineer

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, High Voltage, Software Engineering, or Computer Engineering
  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken)
  • Interest or experience in software development and programming
  • Interest or experience in digital control technology, signal processing and filtering
  • Interest or experience from the electric power industry
