Description For Quantum Device Modeling Engineer

As a Quantum Device Modeling Engineer, you will be at the forefront of scientific modeling and simulation for quantum devices, particularly semiconductor spin qubits. Your responsibilities will include writing and maintaining scientific modeling software, generating simulation data, and analyzing numerical results. This position requires a strong background in solid-state physics, quantum information science, and scientific code development.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field such as Physics, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science. You should have experience in physics-based modeling, numerical simulation, and collaborative code development, with proficiency in languages like C++ and Python. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment are essential.

Requirements For Quantum Device Modeling Engineer

Python
  • U.S. citizenship
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Materials Science, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields
  • Coursework or equivalent experience in quantum mechanics, computational physics/scientific software development, solid state physics, semiconductor devices, numerical analysis, and/or parallel programming
  • Experience in physics-based modeling and numerical simulation
  • Background in collaborative code development utilizing multiple computer languages, including C++ and Python
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively
  • Ability to present ideas and results in technical presentations
  • Ability to contribute to written research reports
  • Ability to spend extended periods of time at a computer monitor
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with other team members
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Active security clearance or ability to apply for security clearance
