Senior Frontend Engineer - Messenger

Intercom is seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer to join their Messenger team. As a product engineer, you'll solve real customer problems through smart application of technical knowledge and tools. You'll primarily focus on building features in the React Messenger front end with a Rails backend, working closely with designers, product managers, mobile engineers, researchers, and data analysts.

Key responsibilities include:

• Owning problems end-to-end, collaborating with cross-functional teams
• Writing and shipping high-quality, well-tested React features for the web Messenger
• Developing technical plans and contributing to React architecture
• Writing backend software using Ruby
• Shipping changes to production frequently (including on your first day)
• Mentoring other engineers and interviewing candidates

Required skills:

• Experience with a backend programming language
• Deep knowledge of JavaScript and React
• Passion for building excellent UX/UI
• 4+ years of industry experience in software engineering, preferably in SaaS
• Experience collaborating with product teams and designers
