This is a 6-month renewable contract position focused on developing and maintaining agricultural technology solutions, specifically the Cacao Seed Tracker module on the SeedTracker platform.
The role combines technical development with agricultural sector impact, requiring the developer to create and maintain applications that serve farmers, extension officers, and various stakeholders in the tropical agriculture space. The position involves both technical development work and user engagement through training and support.
As an Application Developer, you'll be responsible for creating user-friendly interfaces, developing ODK-based applications, and building data dashboards. You'll also play a crucial role in providing technical support and training to end users, including extension officers and farmers, making this an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys both technical work and user interaction.
The ideal candidate should have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, with at least two years of relevant experience. Strong communication skills are essential as the role involves significant interaction with stakeholders and development of training materials. Experience with cloud deployment and software development is required.
