Description For Staff Data Engineer

Join the Operational Data Lake (ODL) team at Intuit, a global financial technology platform powering prosperity through products like TurboTax, Credit Karma, QuickBooks, and Mailchimp. As a Staff Data Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in supporting Intuit's mission by providing a comprehensive view of how its applications are performing, enabling data-driven decisions to enhance customer experiences and improve operational efficiency.

The ODL team's charter is to enable Intuit's engineers and leaders to access all the operational data they need, track every step of the software development lifecycle, and contribute to building a cutting-edge data platform. You'll be architecting and building fault-tolerant, scalable big-data platforms that support high-velocity, high-volume data use cases.

In this role, you'll collaborate cross-functionally with Product Management, Engineering, and Central Data Lake teams to ensure the platform aligns with current requirements while maintaining extensibility for future functionalities. You'll develop scalable architectures for data normalization, lineage, governance, and discoverability, working closely with domain event producers and product teams on AI and ML initiatives.

Key responsibilities include executing code reviews, promoting best practices, and establishing robust processes for testing, monitoring, and incident response. As a technical leader, you'll mentor junior team members and foster an environment of continuous learning and growth.

The ideal candidate brings 8+ years of experience in data analytics, advanced SQL proficiency, and strong programming skills in Python or Java/Scala. You should have deep expertise in big data technologies, workflow orchestration, and AI architectures. Strong business acumen and excellent communication skills are essential for success in this role.
