Invenergy, a leader in clean energy solutions, is seeking a Principal Engineer for Operations Engineering to join their team. This role combines software engineering with energy storage expertise, focusing on operating and optimizing large-scale energy storage facilities. The position requires a blend of technical skills in systems integration, programming, and industrial control systems.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for the critical operation and troubleshooting of Invenergy's Energy Storage facilities, working with cutting-edge technology in renewable energy. They will handle everything from day-to-day operations support to complex system diagnostics involving Battery Management Systems (BMS), Energy Management Systems (EMS), and Power Plant Controllers (PPC).

Responsibilities For Principal Engineer, Operations Engineering
- Provide engineering support for day-to-day operations of the Invenergy Storage fleet
- Provide rapid technical support for field issues
- Diagnose and troubleshoot technical systems including Battery Management Systems, Energy Management Systems, and Power Plant Controllers
- Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective actions
- Create and maintain technical documentation
- Integrate Energy Storage system processes with Control Center and SCADA teams
- Debug system networking, firewall policies, Modbus control, and communication paths
- Develop and maintain automation tools for diagnostics
- Onboard new storage projects into operating fleet
Requirements For Principal Engineer, Operations Engineering
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- 8-10+ years of experience in engineering, systems integration, or technical support role
- Experience with SCADA systems, energy storage technologies, and industrial control systems
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
- Experience with Power Conversion Systems
- Proficiency in Python, shell scripting, and network diagnostics tools
- Understanding of Electrical Safety Practices
