Description For End of Study Internship - Data Scientist / Machine Learning Engineer (Pre-Employment) M/F

Ivalua, a global leader in cloud-based spend management solutions founded in 2000, is offering an end-of-study internship for a Data Scientist / Machine Learning Engineer position. This role is part of Ivalua's Artificial Intelligence team, working on cutting-edge Machine Learning techniques applied to large real-world databases in the procurement process management cycle.

As an intern, you'll join a team of two expert engineers, focusing on building and improving existing AI models for data extraction and document (invoice) classification. You'll analyze various Machine Learning and Deep Learning algorithms to address business issues and implement final models in a Web Service.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Python development for NLP, implementing and optimizing data extraction and document classification models
  • Working with experts to develop Machine Learning and Deep Learning skills
  • Analyzing state-of-the-art approaches in online machine learning and natural language processing, including Large Language Models (LLMs)
  • Analyzing real data to solve business problems with the help of domain experts
  • Participating in the integration of ML applications into products and industrializing solutions
  • Training, versioning, and deploying full-scale machine learning models
  • Participating in POCs and implementing Machine Learning and Deep Learning algorithms

The ideal candidate should have:

  • Advanced Python skills, especially in developing Machine Learning, LLM, and NLP models
  • Strong understanding of Python libraries like pandas, numpy, scikit-learn, spaCy, transformers, XGBoost, and SentenceTransformer
  • Experience with MLflow, Docker, and REST APIs for model management and deployment
  • Data analysis skills to extract meaningful insights
  • Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and communicate technical concepts to non-specialists
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken
