Description For Student Software Developer

Johnson Controls, a global leader in smart building solutions, is seeking a Student Software Developer to join their New Program Implementation (NPI) Quality team. This role is based in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, and offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge building technology solutions.

The position focuses on developing applications using Microsoft Power Apps to streamline processes and improve operational efficiency. As a Student Software Developer, you'll be responsible for designing and implementing solutions that integrate with various Microsoft services and collaborate with multiple departments including Engineering, Manufacturing, Production, and Quality.

The role is ideal for students pursuing a degree in Computer Science or related fields who have experience with Microsoft Power Platform technologies. You'll get hands-on experience with enterprise-level software development, working with databases, cloud services, and modern development tools.

Responsibilities For Student Software Developer

  • Design, develop, and customize applications using Microsoft Power Apps
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements
  • Integrate Power Apps with other Microsoft services
  • Create and implement user-friendly interfaces
  • Integrate third-party APIs and services
  • Create and maintain technical documentation
  • Provide training and support to end-users

Requirements For Student Software Developer

  • Pursuing Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer or Software Engineering, or related field
  • Experience as a Power App Developer with portfolio
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Power Apps, Power Automate, and Microsoft Dataverse
  • Strong understanding of databases and data modeling
  • Experience with Power BI for reporting and analytics
  • Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
  • Solid problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
