Joomag is seeking an AI Engineer to join their team in a role that combines model experimentation, AI-first product thinking, and full-stack implementation. The position requires working closely with founders to enhance the platform's intelligent workflows using LLMs and other AI systems. The ideal candidate will be hands-on and curious, comfortable with both AI technologies and full-stack development. They'll work with various foundation models like OpenAI, Claude, and Gemini, while implementing features across the stack using Node.js, Supabase, and React. The role demands expertise in prompt engineering, model fine-tuning, and agent orchestration, making it perfect for someone who uses AI tools daily and thrives in an experimental environment. Responsibilities For AI Engineer
- Prototype and implement intelligent workflows powered by foundation models
- Explore and integrate multi-step reasoning using Chain-of-Thought and agent-style patterns
- Fine-tune open-source models and run prompt tuning experiments
- Work across the stack to integrate AI features
- Run micro-model evaluations
- Use AI to augment workflow and automate internal tooling
- Contribute to experimentation engine for evaluating models
- Implement AI Voice agents
Requirements For AI Engineer
- Experience working with foundation models (OpenAI, Gemini, Claude, Mistral, etc.)
- Deep understanding of prompt engineering, reasoning chains, agent orchestration, and tool calling
- Hands-on experience with model fine-tuning and working with vector stores
- Proficiency in Cursor or Windsurf
- Strong backend knowledge (Node.js, Supabase/Postgres)
- Comfort building UI flows (React)
- Passion for using AI as a core capability in product design
- Startup mentality: low ego, resourceful, and fast-paced
