Director of Security Engineers

JPMorgan Chase is seeking a Director of Security Engineers to lead and shape the security culture across product technology teams. This senior role combines technical leadership with strategic security oversight to ensure the development of secure products and applications.

The position involves cultivating security practices within product teams, implementing threat modeling processes, and conducting solution architecture reviews. You'll serve as the security thought leader for assigned products, developing deep understanding of product strategies and roadmaps while driving security best practices.

Key responsibilities include monitoring risk indicators, managing security issues, and partnering across the product supply chain to ensure effective risk management. You'll work closely with Third Party Oversight teams on cloud computing and emerging technologies while applying technical expertise to analyze complex systems and anticipate security challenges.

As a leader, you'll influence product design decisions, mentor engineers, and foster a culture of continuous learning. The role requires strategic thinking to modernize security processes while maintaining compliance with risk and security standards. You'll manage staffing, budget, and P&L responsibilities while championing diversity and inclusion.

The ideal candidate brings 12+ years of security engineering experience or related roles, with proven success leading technical teams and complex IT projects. Experience with ITIL methodology, modern data center challenges, and Agile development is essential. Strong leadership capabilities in strategic planning, resource management, and vendor oversight are required.

JPMorgan Chase offers a competitive compensation package including base salary ($245,000-$285,000), comprehensive benefits, and opportunities for growth in a dynamic global organization. The position is based in Seattle with up to 10% travel to other JPMC offices.
