Description For Software Engineer III - Data Engineer

JPMorgan Chase is seeking a Software Engineer III to join their Commercial and Investment Bank's Payments Intelligence group. This role offers an exciting opportunity to take your software engineering career to the next level as a seasoned member of an agile team.

As a Software Engineer III, you'll be responsible for designing and delivering trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. The role involves executing critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions to support the firm's objectives.

Key responsibilities include developing software solutions, creating secure production code, producing architecture designs for complex applications, and working with large data sets. You'll use technologies like Python, Java, AWS services, and big data tools like Spark and Databricks.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of software engineering experience, strong programming skills in Java or Python, and hands-on experience with big data systems and cloud platforms. Knowledge of financial services is preferred.

  • Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
  • Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing
  • Hands on experience with Big Data and distributed computation systems (HDFS, Pyspark, Spark, Databricks)
  • Advanced in Java or Python
  • Experience with AWS services: EMR, GLUE, Step Function, Lambda, EKS, Dynamo
  • Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods
  • Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment
  • Solid understanding of agile methodologies
  • Knowledge of software applications and technical processes
