The position involves designing and developing microservices that power Kong Konnect's cloud-hosted control plane. Responsibilities For Senior API Operations Engineer
- Implement and maintain services that power Konnect, such as Kong's cloud-hosted control plane
- Contribute to Kong's Cloud and Enterprise services
- Design and implement solutions to technical problems of moderate complexity
- Support services in production by participating in an on-call rotation
- Write automated tests to ensure behavior of code and avoid regressions
- Mentor other team members
Requirements For Senior API Operations Engineer
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science
- 5+ years working in a team to develop, deliver, and maintain complex software solutions
- Expert understanding of Go programming language and experience in working on large scale Go codebase
- Experience designing, prototyping, building and debugging microservices architectures and distributed systems
- Experience baking in monitoring and observability into the code for availability, resilience and performance
- Experience with object storage like S3 and streaming systems like Kafka
- Experience developing and supporting a large scale SaaS platform with containerization and Kubernetes
- Experience with public cloud providers like AWS, GCP or Azure
- Expertise with data modeling in relational databases
- Understanding of and development with git and Github workflows
- Expertise in test-driven development and automated testing
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
