Lago is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to join their team and help scale their open-source billing platform. This role combines DevOps expertise with platform engineering to ensure reliability and performance.
As an Infrastructure Engineer, you'll be responsible for owning and scaling Lago's infrastructure, ensuring high reliability, performance, and security. You'll work with modern tools like Terraform and Kubernetes to automate infrastructure provisioning, and optimize database performance for PostgreSQL and Clickhouse systems.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and implementing infrastructure automation using Terraform and Kubernetes
- Managing and optimizing database performance and availability
- Implementing robust monitoring and observability solutions
- Enhancing security practices across the infrastructure
- Collaborating with engineering teams on DevOps best practices
The ideal candidate brings:
- 5+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering or DevOps
- Strong expertise with Kubernetes, Terraform, and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP)
- Solid experience managing PostgreSQL in production
- Proficiency in Ruby or Go (or willingness to learn)
- Passion for open-source technologies

Responsibilities For Infrastructure Engineer
- Own and scale Lago's infrastructure to ensure reliability, performance, and security
- Design and automate infrastructure provisioning using Terraform, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines
- Optimize databases (PostgreSQL, Clickhouse) for high availability and performance
- Improve monitoring and observability, ensuring proactive detection and resolution of issues
- Enhance security practices, from IAM policies to data protection strategies
- Collaborate with engineers to improve deployment processes and DevOps best practices
Requirements For Infrastructure Engineer
- Strong experience in infrastructure engineering, DevOps, or SRE roles: 5 year+
- Expertise in Kubernetes, Terraform, and cloud environments (AWS/GCP)
- Experience managing and scaling PostgreSQL in production
- Proficiency in Ruby or Go (or willingness to learn)
