Description For Software Engineer [Senior, Staff, Principal]

LatchBio is building a cloud platform for biology that includes data storage, analysis, and visualization. Our end-to-end bioinformatics solution gives biologists direct access to computational tools without the need to deal with data infrastructure, command line interfaces, or code. We are positioned to meet the growing software infrastructure needs in biopharma, where data is expected to grow 20x in 7 years.

As a Software Engineer at LatchBio, you'll be part of a small, ambitious, and fast engineering team that places high emphasis on code quality and professional development. You'll work on complex technologies across the stack, including PostgreSQL, TypeScript, Python, React, distributed systems, cloud environments, Kubernetes, and Linux.

Key responsibilities include:

  • End-to-end development across frontend, backend, and DevOps
  • Collaborating with design, product, business, and customer success teams
  • Participating in code reviews and maintaining high code quality
  • Working on complex systems and technologies
  • Contributing to all stages of product development

We offer a high-trust environment with zero blame culture, emphasizing learning and professional development. You'll have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology in the rapidly growing field of biological data analysis and visualization.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrable in-depth understanding of complex technology
  • Ability and interest to work with technology regardless of its complexity or role
  • Motivation to learn and improve continuously
  • Work well with minimal management
  • Desire to create things and make them your own

We offer competitive compensation, excellent benefits, and the chance to work on technology that's moving the medium of biological discovery to silicon. Join us in building the ubiquitous cloud platform for storing, visualizing, and analyzing data from biological experiments.
