Description For Test Engineer

Lighthouse Games is a new AAA studio in Leamington Spa, defined by talent pedigree and serious ambition to build a best-in-class game. As a Test Engineer, you'll support quality assurance by developing and executing test plans for our upcoming AAA title. You'll work closely with the development team to ensure thorough testing and high-quality standards. Your main goal is to identify bugs early in development.

Key duties include:

  • Collaborating with developers on requirements and feature understanding
  • Creating and maintaining test plans, cases, and automated tests
  • Identifying and tracking defects using bug tracking tools
  • Participating in regular testing and debugging tasks
  • Contributing to quality discussions and process improvement
  • Staying updated on testing frameworks and methodologies
  • Supporting a quality assurance culture throughout the studio

Requirements:

  • Experience in QA or testing roles in game development
  • Familiarity with testing methodologies and best practices
  • Proficiency in bug tracking and test case management software
  • Basic understanding of programming, particularly C++
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Passion for games and attention to detail

Desirable skills:

  • Experience with automated testing tools
  • Knowledge of Unreal Engine 4 or 5
  • Experience in continuous integration
  • Familiarity with performance and load testing

Responsibilities For Test Engineer

  • Support a culture of quality assurance throughout the studio

Requirements For Test Engineer

  • Experience in Quality Assurance or testing roles within game development
  • Familiarity with testing methodologies and best practices
  • Proficient in bug tracking tools and test case management software
  • Basic understanding of programming and scripting languages, particularly C++
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team
  • Passion for games and a keen eye for detail
