LinkedIn is seeking a Director of Software Engineering, Machine Learning to lead their Content Abuse Engineering charter in Bangalore, India. This is a strategic leadership role within LinkedIn's Trust organization, focused on keeping the platform safe and trusted through cutting-edge AI technology.
The role combines technical expertise in machine learning with significant people leadership responsibilities. The selected candidate will lead both the Content Abuse AI team, which builds models to prevent and detect violating and low-quality content, and the Content Abuse Apps Engineering team, which develops end-to-end engineering solutions for content moderation.
The position requires deep technical knowledge in machine learning, particularly in areas like natural language processing, computer vision, generative AI, and large language models. The ideal candidate will have 15+ years of ML experience and 10+ years of people management experience, including managing large teams of 30+ individuals and first-line managers.
Key responsibilities include leading AI and apps engineering teams, owning multiple technical charters (embedding-based retrieval, generative AI, AI productivity, core foundational models), partnering with cross-functional teams on content moderation roadmaps, and working with LinkedIn India leadership to build the company's AI presence in India.
