Description For Staff Software Engineer, Multi-Language Infrastructure (Rust & Go-lang Expertise)

LinkedIn is seeking a Staff Software Engineer with expertise in Rust and Go-lang for their Multi-Language Infrastructure team. This role is based in Mountain View, CA, with a hybrid work option. As part of LinkedIn's world-class software engineering team, you'll be responsible for building next-generation infrastructure and platforms, including application and service delivery, scalable data storage, search platforms, AI platforms, and more.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Owning technical strategy for complex requirements
  • Designing and implementing large-scale distributed systems
  • Improving system observability and developer productivity
  • Mentoring other engineers and defining technical culture
  • Working with open-source communities
  • Driving innovation while iteratively shipping software at scale

Requirements:

  • BA/BS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of industry experience in software design and development
  • 4+ years programming in object-oriented languages like Python, Go, and/or Rust
  • Experience with distributed systems, large-scale systems, and Backend APIs

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with GraphQL, gRPC, Envoy Proxy, Kubernetes
  • Expertise in interoperability with C++ and Rust, including FFI
  • Experience with SideCar architecture and open-source project management
