Description For Cheminformatics Engineer (Machine Learning/Artificial Intelligence)

Loka is seeking a Cheminformatics Engineer specializing in machine learning and artificial intelligence to drive projects for small molecule research. This role involves providing domain expertise, thought leadership, and developing deep learning models for customers. The ideal candidate will have a PhD in Bioinformatics, Chemistry, Bioengineering, or a related field, preferably in Chemoinformatics (MSc candidates with extensive expertise are also considered).

Key responsibilities include:

  • Understanding client business objectives and developing models to achieve them
  • Designing and implementing complex ML systems using classic ML, DL, and foundation models
  • Leading client communications
  • Analyzing model errors and designing strategies to overcome them
  • Deploying, maintaining, and upgrading ML models and pipelines

Required skills:

  • Experience in drug discovery and machine learning
  • Understanding of deep learning for molecular property prediction and lead optimization
  • Extensive knowledge of computational chemistry and/or structure-based design
  • Experience with Open Source Cheminformatics packages, chemical workflow environments, and machine learning on chemical data

  • PhD in Bioinformatics, Chemistry, Bioengineering or similar, preferably in Chemoinformatics (MSc with extensive expertise considered)
  • Experience in drug discovery and machine learning
  • Understanding of deep learning for molecular property prediction and lead optimization
  • Extensive knowledge of computational chemistry and/or structure-based design
  • Experience with Open Source Cheminformatics packages, chemical workflow environments, ML on chemical data, and chemical databases
  • Excellent English
  • Clean criminal record
  • CV in English
