Maersk, a global leader in container logistics, is undergoing a significant digital transformation in their finance and tax systems. They are seeking a Software Engineer specializing in Tax to join their technology team, focusing on e-invoicing SAP S4 solutions for global tax regulatory projects.

The role is part of Maersk's multi-year program to revamp its technology footprint, with SAP serving as the 'digital core' for finance and tax processes. Operating in over 130 countries, this position offers an exciting opportunity to shape the implementation of Finance and Tax solutions for the Maersk group using SAP's latest cloud and S4HANA offerings.

As a Software Engineer - Tax, you'll work within the Maersk Technology team, collaborating with various business lines including Ocean and Logistics. You'll be responsible for configuring e-invoicing solutions, automating tax processes, and ensuring compliance across multiple jurisdictions. The role requires expertise in SAP FI module, tax regulations, and integration with various SAP modules and third-party tax engines.

Responsibilities For Software Engineer - Tax

  • Configure e-invoicing solutions for automated invoice submission
  • Configure and automate SAF-T for various jurisdictions
  • Configure VAT, GST, and withholding tax rules within SAP
  • Ensure smooth integration between SAP FI, MM, and SD modules
  • Develop interfaces for submitting tax reports and e-invoices to tax authorities
  • Automate tax calculations, invoice validation, and compliance checks
  • Maintain audit trails and ensure compliance with tax laws
  • Conduct tests and troubleshoot tax-related issues
  • Work with cross-functional teams for accurate interpretation of tax regulations

Requirements For Software Engineer - Tax

Java
  • Bachelor's Degree in IT, Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 5-8 years in SAP, with 3-5 years focused on tax processes in the FI module
  • Experience with SAP Document Compliance, Peppol, and tax engine ONESOURCE
  • Experience with SAF-T configuration and automation
  • Expertise in VAT, GST, and withholding taxes
  • Experience in tax authority integration and compliance management
  • Strong knowledge of SAP FI and integration with MM/SD modules
  • SAP FI certification (preferred)
  • Experience working in DevOps environment
