Responsibilities For Back-end Software Engineer

  • Build, code, test, and maintain high quality software
  • Participate in Agile sprints and ceremonies
  • Translate user requirements into software requirements
  • Design, develop, test, maintain and improve application APIs
  • Build code to specifications and standards
  • Create and conduct executable tests
  • Review current software framework to identify defects
  • Complete required documentation
  • Research technical strategies and new technologies

Requirements For Back-end Software Engineer

Java
  • BS or MS in Computer Science preferred or equivalent professional experience
  • Experience with: Cobol, DB2, CICS, VSAM, JCL, SAS, Endevor and Control-M
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle
  • Familiarity with agile and DevOps principles
  • Familiar with modern software architectures and API-driven development
  • Familiar with technologies such as: API Gateways, Messaging, Data Event Streaming, REST, SOAP
  • Strong foundation in design, programming and testing
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Collaborative attitude and willingness to work with team members
