Description For Distinguished Systems Engineer - Diabetes

Medtronic's Diabetes Operating Unit is seeking a Distinguished Systems Engineer to lead their mission of becoming best in class in both Multiple Daily Injection (MDI) solutions and Automated Insulin Delivery (AID) algorithms. This senior technical role bridges systems architecture, design, integration, and system performance characterization for complex medical devices.

The position requires a technical authority who can innovate and lead system designs for life-critical medical devices. The role involves working with cross-functional teams, conducting multidisciplinary research, and collaborating with firmware and hardware engineers in the planning, design, and development of products, with a focus on characterization and risk mitigation for low-level hardware algorithms.

As a Distinguished Systems Engineer, you'll contribute to user needs and system-level requirements, analyze system capabilities, and work early in the development process to build prototypes and resolve integration issues. The role requires someone who can mentor technical experts and help them grow into multi-dimensional experts across hardware, software, cloud, and security domains.

Medtronic offers a competitive compensation package, including a comprehensive benefits plan, and the opportunity to work on technology that directly impacts patient lives. The company's mission - to alleviate pain, restore health, and extend life - drives a global team of over 95,000 motivated individuals.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced systems engineer who wants to make a meaningful impact in healthcare technology while working with cutting-edge medical devices and systems. The role offers significant technical challenges, leadership opportunities, and the chance to contribute to products that improve patients' lives.
