Description For Application Security Engineer - Enterprise Engineering

Meta's Enterprise Application Security team is seeking an experienced security engineer to join their technical security division. This role combines software engineering expertise with security specialization, focusing on identifying and eliminating security vulnerabilities at scale. The position requires a deep understanding of secure software development practices and the ability to work with enterprise applications and infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both software development and security, with the ability to not just identify security issues but also implement preventive measures through tooling and automation. You'll work closely with development teams across Meta's enterprise organization, providing crucial security expertise and guidance.

Responsibilities For Application Security Engineer - Enterprise Engineering

  • Conceive, design, develop and improve industry-leading security tooling, automation and frameworks
  • Identify and eliminate classes of security problems by shifting detection and prevention left into the development workflow
  • Provide technical security guidance through code reviews, penetration tests, and threat modeling
  • Identify and prioritize areas of improvement for security maturity across the enterprise
  • Ensure prioritization, resourcing, and timely delivery of work
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on security priorities

Requirements For Application Security Engineer - Enterprise Engineering

  • B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline, or 4+ years of equivalent experience
  • 4+ years of work experience developing production-level code
  • 4+ years of work experience identifying and mitigating security issues in software

  • Experience owning a particular component, feature or system
  • Proven communication skills and high attention to detail
