Description For ASIC Engineer, Architecture

Meta is seeking an experienced ASIC Engineer to join their Infrastructure organization to build accelerators for top workloads in their data centers. This role offers a unique opportunity to work with AI/ML and video codec experts, architecting state-of-the-art machine learning accelerators and contributing to their modeling. The position focuses on developing green data center accelerators, combining hardware expertise with Meta's mission to build efficient infrastructure.

The role involves deep work in ASIC architecture, particularly focused on Machine Learning applications in data centers. You'll be responsible for developing and validating architectures, creating performance models, and implementing reference designs. This position sits at the intersection of hardware engineering and machine learning, requiring both technical depth and strategic thinking about power and performance trade-offs.

Meta's infrastructure team is fundamental to the company's ability to serve billions of users across Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and their emerging AR/VR platforms. As an ASIC Engineer, you'll be contributing directly to the next generation of hardware that powers these services, with a particular focus on machine learning acceleration and energy efficiency.

The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in silicon architecture or modeling, combined with programming skills and an understanding of computer architecture. Responsibilities For ASIC Engineer, Architecture

  • Work on developing Data Center Machine Learning ASIC architecture, algorithms, models, and tools
  • Analyze and map data center workloads to ASIC architecture
  • Develop performance and functional models to validate the architecture
  • Implement various reference silicon architecture models needed for the validation of the accelerators

Requirements For ASIC Engineer, Architecture

Python
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 5+ experience in silicon architecture, silicon modeling, performance architecture, kernel development, or building tools for silicon
  • Programming in C, C++, Python, or related Programming Languages
  • Experience and knowledge of Computer Architecture, or tools for silicon development
  • Experience and knowledge working in building custom silicon
