The Meta Health and Wellbeing team is seeking a biomedical research scientist who will report to the Manager of Health and Wellbeing Research and work alongside other members at the Health and Wellbeing team, aimed at improving health outcomes throughout the world. The ideal candidate will have experience/expertise in biomedical sensors and physiological signals, in both development and validation. A successful candidate in this role is highly collaborative as well as self-driven, passionate, and able to execute consistently in a fast-paced environment. In this role, you will work in and closely with interdisciplinary teams to plan and execute research of novel digital approaches to measuring and improving health and wellness.
Responsibilities:
- Work with biomedical sensors and systems to collect and analyze physiological data for health and wellness applications
- Develop and implement signal processing, data analysis, and data visualization
- Develop methods and standard operating procedures for data collection
- Use advanced statistical software, methods, and techniques to analyze research data
- Design and execute studies to validate algorithms for biomedical applications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience
- Master's in biomedical engineering or equivalent
- 2+ years working in multidisciplinary research and/or product development teams
- Expertise in execution and reporting of results of digital health research projects
- Programming expertise in Python, writing reusable and well-documented code
Preferred Qualifications:
- Understanding of human physiology and prior research experience in health
- Industrial experience in consumer/digital health product development or research
- Experience in PyTorch, Numpy and Pandas
- Experience in developing specialized software tools for biomedical measurement data
- Familiarity with data pipeline and data investigation
