Description For Data Engineer, Analytics

Meta (formerly Facebook) is seeking a Data Engineer to join their Analytics team. This role combines technical expertise in data engineering with business impact through informed decision-making. The position offers both remote work flexibility and an opportunity to work from Meta's Menlo Park office.

The role requires a Master's degree and 3 years of experience, focusing on designing and implementing data warehousing solutions, ETL processes, and sophisticated data models. You'll work with cutting-edge big data technologies while collaborating with engineers, product managers, and data scientists across Meta's family of products including Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and their emerging AR/VR initiatives.

Responsibilities For Data Engineer, Analytics

  • Design, model, and implement data warehousing activities
  • Design, build and launch sophisticated data models and visualizations
  • Collaborate with engineers, product managers and data scientists

Requirements For Data Engineer, Analytics

Python
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field
  • 3 years of experience in features, design, and use-case scenarios across big data ecosystem
  • Experience in custom ETL design, implementation, and maintenance
  • Knowledge of object-oriented programming languages
  • Experience in schema design and dimensional data modeling
  • Proficiency in writing SQL statements
  • Experience analyzing data to identify deliverables, gaps, and inconsistencies
  • Experience managing and communicating data warehouse plans
  • Knowledge of MapReduce or MPP system
  • Python programming skills
