Description For Display Silicon Engineer

Meta's Display Silicon team within the Display and Optics organization is seeking a Display Silicon Engineer to support the development of proprietary display silicon backplanes for wearable AR displays. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge AR/VR technology, combining both research and product development.

The position involves collaborating with display silicon architects, electrical engineers, optical scientists, device engineers, pixel pipeline engineers, and the visual quality team. You'll be responsible for developing and delivering silicon display solutions that will shape the future of Meta's AR/VR technology.

As a Display Silicon Engineer, you'll be working at the intersection of hardware and software, developing micro-architectural models, driving specifications, and working closely with silicon vendors. The role requires a strong background in mixed-signal silicon design and the ability to work in a highly collaborative environment.

Responsibilities For Display Silicon Engineer

  • Drive block-level specification of display silicon designs
  • Work closely with silicon vendors to fully-specify and implement design
  • Operate in a highly collaborative, cross-functional role
  • Work with chip and block architects to understand macro floorplan, power distribution, and signal interfaces
  • Develop micro-architectural models of display systems for validation and verification
  • Leverage models and automation to drive data-driven specification of display backplanes

Requirements For Display Silicon Engineer

Python
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • M.S. or Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
  • 2+ years of industry experience designing custom mixed-signal silicon with a digital or analog focus
  • Comprehensive understanding of both analog and digital design flows
  • Experience modeling power & performance using Python models (or similar)
  • Experience communicating and presenting to highly cross-functional group of partners
  • Experience working proactively with limited guidance
  • Keen interest in emerging AR/MR display technology
