Responsibilities For Principal Mechanical Engineer (R&D)

  • Lead mechanical team through the full product development cycle to deliver mechanical component/subsystem designs from concept to production
  • Play a critical role in the definition and execution of long-term roadmaps in partnership with external and internal hardware and research teams
  • Partner with researchers and industry to advance TRL of component technology and proactively de-risk integration
  • Mentor and coach other mechanical engineers
  • Leverage technical knowledge to influence business strategy and research portfolio

Requirements For Principal Mechanical Engineer (R&D)

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of experience developing high-volume consumer products with stringent SWAP-C constraints in such as wearables, mobile devices, or similar
  • 10+ years of experience in 3D CAD modeling (NX or similar)
  • Experience in advancing design and manufacturing technologies to enable world-class products
  • Experience influencing VPs & Directors on business strategy
