Research Engineer - Audio Data Collection Team

Meta Reality Labs is seeking a Research Engineer to lead the Audio Data Collection Team, focusing on creating breakthrough AR/VR experiences. This role combines technical leadership with hands-on engineering to build large-scale data collection and processing systems for audio AR & VR technologies. The position is part of Meta's ambitious vision to make AR and VR as universal as smartphones and personal computers.

The role involves leading the design and development of complex multi-modal systems for human-oriented data collection, working at the intersection of audio technology and machine learning. You'll be responsible for creating sophisticated tooling for data processing and management while providing technical direction to other engineers. The position requires expertise in Python, system design, and a strong background in technical leadership.

As part of Meta's Reality Labs team, you'll work alongside world-class researchers and engineers developing technologies for Smartglasses, AR glasses, and VR headsets. The team focuses on various cutting-edge areas including optics, displays, computer vision, audio, graphics, and brain-computer interfaces. The position offers competitive compensation ranging from $170,000 to $240,000 annually, plus bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits.
