Research Scientist Intern, AI Core Machine Learning (PhD)

Meta is seeking Research Scientist Interns for AI Core Machine Learning (PhD) in Montreal, Canada. This internship offers an opportunity to make core algorithmic advances and apply ideas at an unprecedented scale. Interns will develop novel state-of-the-art algorithms, analyze and improve various aspects of systems, perform cutting-edge research in Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence, collaborate with researchers and cross-functional partners, and publish research results.

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing state-of-the-art algorithms and systems using deep learning techniques
• Analyzing and improving efficiency, scalability, stability, fairness, security, and privacy of algorithms and systems
• Advancing the science and technology of Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence
• Collaborating with researchers and cross-functional partners
• Publishing research results and contributing to Meta product development

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing or obtained a Ph.D. in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or relevant technical field
• Experience with Python, C++, C, Java or other related languages
• Experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow

Preferred qualifications include a proven track record of significant results, experience in building large-scale machine learning systems, and strong communication skills.

The internship duration is 12 to 16 weeks, or 24 weeks, with various start dates throughout the year. Compensation ranges from CA$6,240/month to CA$9,946/month plus benefits.
