Description For Critical Environment Electrical Engineer

Microsoft's Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) is seeking a Critical Environment Electrical Engineer to join their team. This role is crucial in delivering core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online services including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform.

The position involves working with a large global portfolio of more than 200 datacenters in 32 countries, supporting services for over 1 billion customers and 20 million businesses worldwide. The focus is on environmental sustainability and optimization in datacenter design and operations.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Assisting in the creation and execution of robust, scalable, secure, and extensible designs for electrical engineering aspects of products.
  2. Participating in intellectual property creation and patent filing.
  3. Implementing solutions to technical and design challenges.
  4. Developing design documentation, including drawings, specifications, schematics, and diagrams.
  5. Conducting testing and verification of products and features.
  6. Assisting in project implementation and risk assessment.
  7. Creating detailed reports and functional specifications.

The ideal candidate should have 4+ years of technical engineering experience or a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree with 1+ year of experience is preferred.

Requirements For Critical Environment Electrical Engineer

  • 4+ years of technical engineering experience OR Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements
  • Pass Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter
