Microsoft's Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) is seeking a Critical Environment Field Service Engineer (CE FSE) to join their team. This role is crucial in delivering core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online services including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with data center business units and service-level policies
- Manage programs associated with area of responsibility
- Maximize Critical Environment (CE) availability in leased Datacenters
- Oversee day-to-day operations and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment
- Reduce high-impact and human-error Critical Environment incidents
- Deliver on cost/energy efficiency initiatives
- Support Emergency Preparedness and Response plans
- Coordinate and supervise CE audits and compliance verification
- Establish strong relationships with Engineering Groups and Landlord partners
- Share best practices and provide mentorship across data centers
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent AND 2+ years industry experience in a datacenter or critical environment facility, OR 3+ years industry experience and college course work
- Ability to pass Microsoft Cloud Background Check
- Citizenship verification required due to government agency customer requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years' experience in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- 3+ years' experience in Critical Environment infrastructures
- Bachelor's Degree or Technical College certification in mechanical or electrical engineering
- Experience with large scale Critical Environment projects and IT infrastructure operations
The role offers competitive compensation, with a base pay range of USD $100,800 - $195,000 per year (higher in San Francisco and New York City areas), along with benefits and other compensation.
