Description For Critical Environment Technician Manager (Night Shift)

Microsoft's Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) is seeking a Critical Environment Technician Manager for the night shift. This role is crucial in delivering core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online services including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform. The position involves managing a team responsible for operating and maintaining critical environment-related facility equipment in data centers. Key responsibilities include people management, equipment and systems operations, maintenance, and fostering a culture of safety and security. The ideal candidate should have experience in mission-critical services, people management skills, and technical expertise in areas such as electrical, mechanical, or controls systems. This role requires working 12-hour shifts during non-standard business hours (7pm - 7am) and may include evenings, weekends, and holidays. Responsibilities For Critical Environment Technician Manager (Night Shift)

  • Manage and lead a team of critical environment technicians
  • Oversee equipment and systems operations in data centers
  • Perform and guide complex maintenance tasks
  • Respond to and lead incident response teams
  • Develop and implement operating procedures
  • Ensure safety and security requirements are met
  • Coordinate with third-party contractors and vendors
  • Prepare and submit complex reports
  • Participate in testing and commissioning activities

Requirements For Critical Environment Technician Manager (Night Shift)

Linux
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent AND 3+ years mission critical services work/applied learning experience
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including non-standard business hours (7pm - 7am)
  • Pass Microsoft Cloud Background Check
  • Physical requirements including occasional climbing of ladders, frequent climbing of stairs, prolonged standing, and occasional lifting of 50lbs
