Description For Data Center Field Service Electromechanical Engineer

Microsoft's Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) is seeking a Field Service Electromechanical Engineer (FSE) to join their team. This role is crucial in delivering core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online services, including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform.

The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of industry experience in a datacenter or critical environment facility. They will be responsible for maximizing Critical Environment (CE) availability, overseeing day-to-day operations and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment, reducing high-impact incidents, and supporting cost and energy efficiency initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring compliance with data center policies and service-level agreements
  • Managing programs within their area of responsibility
  • Participating in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) processes
  • Coordinating CE audits and compliance verification
  • Establishing strong relationships with Engineering Groups and Landlord partners
  • Sharing best practices across the global datacenter portfolio

The role requires proficiency in written, reading, and conversational English, as all business operations and customer communications are conducted in English. The candidate must also be available 24/7 as the primary point of contact for emergencies.
