The Xbox Experiences and Platforms team is home to the engineering work that makes this vision possible, building the developer tools and services that enable game creators to craft incredible experiences, the commerce systems that connect publishers with their audience and help gamers engage with their next favorite games, the platforms on which those games play at their best, and the experiences that turn every screen into an Xbox.

The Xbox Experiences and Platforms Data Team is looking for an enthusiastic Data Engineer to help us build and deliver business intelligence through data for gaming platforms and experiences. Your duties will involve collaborating with teams like engineering and program management to comprehend critical business questions for customer-facing scenarios, establish key performance indicators, and create core data pipelines used to identify insights and experiment ideas that impact business metrics.

Responsibilities include:

  • Improve upon existing data platform offerings with a fundamental understanding of the end-to-end scenarios.
  • Authoring and designing Big Data ETL pipelines in SCOPE, Scala, SQL, Python, or C#.
  • Data extraction, data cleaning, preprocessing, and transformation for further analysis by data analysts and feature teams.
  • Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and back-end services for real-time decisioning, reporting, optimization, data collection, and related functions.
  • Key contributions in a medium-to-large area
  • Contribute to a data-driven culture as well as a culture of experimentation across the organization.
  • Creating dashboards in Power BI and Azure Data Explorer

Requirements For Data Engineer 2

Python
Scala
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Math, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 2+ years experience in business analytics, data science, software development, data modeling or data engineering work OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Math, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 1+ year(s) experience in business analytics, data science, software development, or data engineering work OR equivalent experience.
  • Experience working with cloud-based technologies, including relational databases, data warehouse, big data (e.g., Hadoop, Spark), orchestration/data pipeline tools, data lakes.
  • Self-motivated and organized to deliver results
