Description For Member of Technical Staff - Windows Engineer

Microsoft AI (MAI) is seeking experienced Windows Engineers to join their team working on Copilot for Windows. This role sits within the newly formed MAI organization, dedicated to advancing Copilot and other consumer AI products and research, including Bing, Edge, and generative AI research.

The position focuses on building next-generation capabilities for Copilot on Windows, requiring someone with strong technical prowess and methodical problem-solving skills. As a Windows Engineer, you'll be responsible for creating experiences that showcase Copilot's power in Windows, large screens, and productivity scenarios. The role involves close collaboration with Platform, Product Management, Design, and Research teams.

The ideal candidate should have at least 4 years of experience in software engineering, with expertise in Windows Internals, UI development, and various programming languages including Python, C#, C++, and .NET. You'll be working in a hybrid environment, requiring 3 days per week in the office at either the Redmond, WA or Mountain View, CA location.

The compensation is competitive, with a base salary range of $117,200 - $229,200 per year (higher for SF Bay Area and NYC locations). Microsoft offers comprehensive benefits including industry-leading healthcare, educational resources, parental leave, and investment opportunities.

  • Experience building secure, performant and well architected applications
