Description For Principal Security Assurance Engineer

Microsoft Security aspires to make the world a safer place for all by reshaping security and empowering users, customers, and developers with end-to-end security solutions. The M365 Security Team is seeking a Principal Security Assurance Engineer to drive secure engineering policies and practices across user-facing services, including AI platforms. This role involves collaborating with teams across Microsoft to define security best practices, identify emerging security problems, and build solutions often utilizing AI.

The position requires expertise in security architecture, threat modeling, and security reviews, with a focus on customer-facing organizations. You'll be responsible for mentoring others, managing security and privacy programs, tracking metrics, and representing Microsoft in customer briefings and security conferences.

The role offers the opportunity to work with Microsoft's M365 product portfolio, which includes some of the world's most widely used productivity applications and services. You'll be part of a Growth Mindset team that constantly evolves based on input from service partners, bug bounty reports, penetration tests, and customer feedback.

Requirements For Principal Security Assurance Engineer

  • 7+ years experience in software development lifecycle, cyber security, OR anomaly detection
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Networking, Information Assurance, Cyber Security, Mathematics, Risk Management, or related field
  • Pass Microsoft Cloud Background Check
  • 5+ years experience in Red Teaming, Penetration Testing, Security Architecture Reviews, Vulnerability Research (preferred)
