Principal Software Engineer

The E+D Growth Team at Microsoft is focused on expanding the user and customer base through Product-Led Growth initiatives across Microsoft 365, Windows, and other products. This Principal Software Engineer role is crucial in driving the adoption and monetization of Microsoft 365 Copilot through Product-Led Growth methodologies.

As a Principal Software Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of developing AI-powered experiences that impact hundreds of millions of users. The role involves leading technical vision, hands-on execution, and driving architectural transformation. You'll work across the entire stack, influence technical direction, and help shape the engineering organization's culture.

The position focuses on building new experiences, running experimentation, and making data-driven decisions. You'll collaborate with diverse stakeholders across product, design, marketing, research, and business disciplines to deliver magical, AI-powered experiences that users rely on daily.

Key responsibilities include leading the development of design documents, mentoring other engineers, driving cross-product features, and maintaining system reliability. You'll need to balance strategic thinking with detailed execution while working in a high-growth area within E+D.

The ideal candidate brings 10+ years of technical engineering experience (or 8+ with a Master's degree), exceptional stakeholder management skills, and experience with AI/ML-powered experiences.
