Principal UX Engineer

ModeDS is Microsoft's initiative focused on enhancing product craft and coherence by optimizing design-to-code workflows and fostering transparency. As a Principal UX Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of transforming design-to-code processes across Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint.

The role involves leading the development of front-end design solutions, technical prototypes, and user interface systems. You'll collaborate closely with design, engineering, and product teams to implement design systems, motion design, and tooling improvements. Key responsibilities include:

• Leading development of front-end design solutions and technical prototypes
• Championing collaboration between design and engineering teams

• Setting context for senior leadership stakeholders
• Creating compelling product stories for various audiences

Required qualifications include 8+ years of experience in product/service design or shipping production code, or relevant degree combinations with experience. Preferred skills include experience with large codebases, Figma expertise, front-end build systems knowledge, and strong attention to detail.
