Description For Project Engineer / Coordinator - AMER

Microsoft Cloud Operations and Innovation (CO&I) is seeking a Project Engineer/Coordinator to join their Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) team. This role is crucial in delivering core datacenter infrastructure for Microsoft's cloud business, managing complex, multi-disciplinary datacenter construction projects. The position offers a competitive salary range of $117,200 - $229,200 USD (higher in SF and NYC areas) and allows for up to 100% remote work, though proximity to regional hub locations is preferred.

The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of experience in engineering or technical program management, with strong skills in project coordination and technical support. You'll be responsible for managing cross-functional teams, driving project execution, conducting feasibility studies, and ensuring project success within scope, schedule, and budget constraints.

Responsibilities For Project Engineer / Coordinator - AMER

  • Coordinate and support fast-track project execution using a matrixed team
  • Drive resolution of project challenges and foster collaboration
  • Scope projects, conduct feasibility studies, and report findings
  • Collaborate with on-site operations teams for feasibility and gap analysis
  • Analyze industry best practices and internal processes
  • Manage project scope changes and adjust overall plans
  • Build productive relationships with implementation partners
  • Guide teams to update and refine the Basis of Design (BOD)
  • Develop and manage project budgets, scopes, and schedules
  • Identify cost-effective solutions and streamline processes
  • Take ownership of EPC project delivery

Requirements For Project Engineer / Coordinator - AMER

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects
  • Travel requirement: 25-50%
