Description For Senior Customer Experience Engineer (SRE)

Microsoft's Azure Customer Experience (CXP) team is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to work on their HPC environment. This role combines technical expertise with customer obsession, focusing on driving reliability engineering excellence within Azure's cloud infrastructure.

The position offers a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced, startup-like culture within Microsoft's cloud division. The team emphasizes a "no dead-ends," "whatever it takes," and "biased for action" philosophy, ensuring customers can maximize their potential through Microsoft Cloud. Key focus areas include customer trust, high responsiveness, automation, SLO/SLI/SLA management, blameless post-mortems, observability, monitoring, and toil reduction.

As a Senior CXP Engineer, you'll be responsible for enhancing service reliability, collaborating with customers, and implementing automation solutions. The role requires deep technical expertise in distributed systems, strong problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills. You'll work with cutting-edge technology alongside world-class engineers, tackling exciting engineering challenges in a supportive environment.

The position offers a hybrid work arrangement with up to 50% work from home flexibility, though it requires 25-50% travel. Responsibilities For Senior Customer Experience Engineer (SRE)

  • Collaborate with SRE teams on building and enhancing tooling and automation solutions
  • Work with customers to understand pain points around Supportability and SLO attainment
  • Be the single point of contact for handling service escalations
  • Implement changes to service telemetry
  • Enhance customer facing experience through proactive alerting
  • Analyze data and provide operational insights to Design and Product teams

Requirements For Senior Customer Experience Engineer (SRE)

Linux

  • 6+ years of technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, or systems administration
  • 5+ years of operational experience in improving Service Reliability, Availability and Performance
  • Systematic problem-solving approach with effective communication skills
  • Expertise in analyzing and troubleshooting distributed systems
  • Ability to travel to customer site in South East UK
  • UK security clearance required
  • Prior HPC knowledge preferred
