Senior Quality Engineer Leader

Microsoft's Surface Quality team is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer Leader to spearhead the validation and quality assurance of next-generation Surface devices. This role combines technical leadership with hands-on engineering, focusing on hardware and software validation for premium device development.

The position involves leading a team responsible for design verification, characterization, tuning, and qualification of Surface hardware and corresponding software. The leader will develop comprehensive verification strategies that connect high-level use cases to product architecture, effectively identifying and eliminating defects. They will provide critical analysis of data and test results, driving solutions and design optimizations while balancing business priorities.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading quality validation efforts for Surface products, encompassing both hardware and software components
• Representing quality and customer voice to ensure products meet Microsoft's high standards
• Managing test engineering and validation processes, working closely with developers and program managers
• Conducting technical reviews and audits throughout development
• Communicating program status and quality updates to upper management
• Triaging and investigating product issues, coordinating with project teams for solutions

The role requires strong technical expertise in computer science or related fields, with significant experience in coding and PC software/hardware validation. The ideal candidate will have working knowledge of PC subsystems like UEFI/BIOS, PCBAs, WiFi, Bluetooth, RF Networking, Audio, Camera, Display, and Graphics.
