Microsoft Security is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join their M365 Security team. This role represents an opportunity to work on critical systems that protect billions of users worldwide. As an SRE, you'll be treating operations as a software engineering problem, focusing on improving the availability, latency, performance, and security of Microsoft M365 Security services.
The position combines traditional operations responsibilities of maintaining revenue-critical systems with a software engineering approach to solving problems through code improvements and automation. You'll be working with state-of-the-art technologies to deliver the next evolution in collaboration and teamwork.
The ideal candidate will provide leadership and direction for networking, infrastructure design, implementation, and security for M365 Security services. You'll collaborate closely with other engineering teams to ensure services are highly stable and meet both internal and external stakeholder expectations.
This role offers exposure to deploying and running services that power Microsoft E + D services, while developing expertise in web services optimization and security. The position is based in Redmond, WA, with a hybrid work arrangement allowing up to 50% work from home.
The compensation is competitive, ranging from $117,200 to $229,200 per year, with higher ranges for San Francisco and New York City locations. Key technical requirements include 6+ years of experience in software engineering or systems administration, strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking, security protocols, and proficiency in scripting languages like Python and PowerShell.
